MIAMI COUNTY, IN- The Miami County Community Foundation has awarded a $1,900 grant to the Mexico Community Fire Association, Inc. to support the purchase of upgraded fire hose nozzles and portable suction equipment. The grant was made possible through the Miami County Community Fund.

The new equipment will enhance operational effectiveness and improve firefighter and patient safety. Many of the department’s current nozzles are outdated and lack modern flow control features. With the new nozzles, the department can respond more effectively to dynamic fire conditions, reduce water damage, and implement safer fire attack tactics. In addition, portable suction units will allow first responders to better manage patient airways during EMS calls, ultimately increasing the quality of care in critical situations.

This grant was made possible by generous donors to the Miami County Community Fund. Right now, every dollar donated to this fund is matched with an additional $2, tripling the impact of your gift. Contributions support local organizations like the Mexico Community Fire Association and help ensure emergency services, educational programs, and community initiatives can continue to thrive in Miami County.
